Located in the beautiful Brookside of Kansas City is Foo's Fabulous Frozen Custard. Betty, The owner of the place took over what her brother started about fifteen years ago. She has been teaching as well as working at the joint until last year, when she dedicated full time to the shop and another recently opened shop in Leawood. Betty is not only charming and personable, but when asked, "What's good?" she gave the perfect answers, helping me choose my two flavors for the day. The Pez, which consists of strawberry, raspberry, and lemon, and Whut Whut, made of liquid peanut butter and Oreo all on top of freshly made frozen custard. I sat down at one of the lovely tables in the brightly colored shop and enjoyed my treat and chatted with Betty.

I got two 'mini' sized concretes, filling me up and extra for about eight dollars. The average person would only need three to five dollars for their one mini, small, medium, or large. Personally, I think one mini has enough frozen custard to fill me up. Some additional ingredients you might add are marshmallow, butterscotch, cheesecake, coffee, rum, pecans, banana, pineapple, creme de menthe, cinnamon, heath, M&M and more.

As I journeyed through Brookside I found a couple other gems: Brookside Barkery and Bath, a eco-friendly pet supply store where I purchased a new toy fro my cat and a real pig ear for my pup. 5B&Co. Candle Makers, hand-poured, highly scented candles, is right next to Foo's Fabulous, and has probably hundreds of new and interesting fragrances.
